“Children learn more through play than by any other means; it is how they explore, test and understand the world.”
At Red Bear, play is at the heart of learning. Our play-based approach allows children to explore, experiment and make sense of the world in ways that are meaningful, engaging and fun. Children move freely between planned and spontaneous activities based on their interests, encouraging independence, choice and curiosity while supporting their individual strengths and goals.
To extend and enhance our curriculum, we also offer:
In the Butterfly Room, children continue to build on their social, emotional and cognitive foundations. They investigate ideas, make choices and take responsibility for their learning, developing curiosity, confidence and problem-solving skills.
Through projects, STEM challenges, creative experiences and group play, children practice cooperation, empathy, communication and self-regulation. Literacy and numeracy activities, fine motor experiences and safety programs prepare them for school while fostering a sense of belonging and capability.
Our Caterpillar Room provides a nurturing, stimulating environment where toddlers explore, discover and develop foundational skills. Guided by attachment principles and responsive relationships, children feel safe to take risks and grow confidence in their abilities.
Through small group experiences, role-play and collaborative activities, toddlers learn to share, take turns, ask for help and express emotions. Play-based learning also supports early communication, motor skills, and emerging independence, laying the groundwork for a smooth transition to the Butterfly Room.
